Northumberland Learning Connection, based in Cobourg and Port Hope, Ontario, offers a chance to broaden your knowledge and exchange ideas in a local setting.
Each spring and fall, we hold a weekly series of lectures and seminars. We bring the experts, often world-renowned, and you bring your curiosity. The topics are varied but always compelling, drawing from science, the arts, history and the humanities. Canada’s Arctic 2017: Northern Dreams, Northern Realities

Canada is a Northern Nation. Canada's Arctic makes up over 40% of our landmass and is home to more than 100,000 Canadians. It is an essential part of our national identity and it is vital to our future.
In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Confederation, Northumberland Learning Connection presents a program on the Canadian Arctic from March 30 to May 5, 2017.
Join us as we explore the history, art, landscape, and contemporary issues affecting the people of the North.
We wrap up the series with distinguished Inuk environmental, cultural and human rights advocate, and Nobel Peace Prize nominee SHEILA WATT-CLOUTIER.
Thursday evening talks: 7:30 - 9:30 pm, at the Columbus Community Centre, 232 Spencer Street E., Cobourg
Friday morning discussions: 9:00-11:00 am at the Port Hope Public Library, 31 Queen Street.
